A Meath credit union has congratulated "our very own" Dublin GAA team on winning five All-Ireland championships in a row.
Ashbourne Credit Union posted that "they did it, five in a row, Sam is coming home to DUBLIN AGAIN" on its Facebook page yesterday, following the capital county's victory over Kerry at Croke Park.
The post added: "Enjoy the celebrations everyone and remember we like to support ALL in our community..."
Parts of the town are just metres from the Meath/Dublin border but that didn't stop commenters who were quick to pick up on the discrepancy.
Ciaran Buckley posted: "Ashbourne is in Meath. The Sam Maguire is not coming home to Ashbourne, it’s going to a well-deserving dearly-beloved Dublin, next door."
Sarah Foley said: "Ashbourne is in Meath though! So it's not coming home here??? Hon the ROYALS."
Liam Quinn added: "Is ashbourne not in meath no? Crowd of wannabes."
Barry McGonigle said: "Correct me if I'm wrong, is Ashbourne not in Meath?? A distinct lack of a good luck message to the Meath ladies as well."
