What does the national flag do to a sportsman representing his or her nation in a global championship where everyone is willing to give 100%? What do the colours of the flag mean to a soldier who knows that on any day he may go home wrapped in those colours? And why was Sachin Tendulkar once stopped from wearing the Indian flag on his cricket gear?
The audience at the packed Times Litfest session on Upholding the National Flag got answers to all such questions and much more. It featured Naveen Jindal, Lt Gen (retd) Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, and Gautam Buddha Nagar district magistrate Suhas LY who made impassioned pleas to every Indian to make ‘har ghar Tiranga, har din Tiranga’ – the Tricolour in every home, every day – a reality.
