The world’s first indoor Supersprint spearheads the MCN Motorcycle Show when it roars into London this weekend.

Battling it out on the custom-built 550-ft track at the heart of the ExCel centre in Docklands, will be world class riders including Isle of Man TT veterans Peter Hickman and John McGuinness, on fast BMWs, Harley-Davidsons, Triumphs and other brands.

Running from February 17 - 19, the show will also feature new motorcycle models, riding apparel, an action-packed Adventure Show and a classic auction.

It comes as new figures from the MCIA (Motorcycle Industry Association) reveal a 6.8 per cent decline in UK motorcycle sales for January, compared to the same month last year. It’s not all doom and gloom, however, with industry experts expecting the show to help accelerate sales to 2022 levels by the end of March.

Manufacturers confirmed for the show include BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, KYMCO, Indian, Norton, Royal Enfield, Sur-Ron and Triumph, with others to follow.

Electric

CAKE – the innovative Swedish electric motorcycle maker – will be making its London Motorcycle Show debut. It will be showing off models including its flat track championship-winning machine, and multipurpose street-legal off-roaders, while giving a glimpse into the industry’s electric future.

CAKE’s electric bikes will be at the show

Other electric bikes on show will include the revolutionary new Kawasaki Ninja EV and BMW’s swish CE-04.

The show’s organisers believe that the world’s first indoor Supersprint will be a major draw, with star bikes and riders put to the test in stunning, daily, 40-minute displays of speed and power. The bikes – including Triumph 900 and 1200 Scramblers as seen in 007 movie ‘No Time to Die’ – will be up against the clock as they dash down the indoor runway.

The UK’s largest motorcycle training school – Phoenix Motorcycle Training – will also be at the show, highlighting their new off-road instruction and adventures, as well as on-road training.

Inspiration for riders’ next motorcycle trips is on hand at the Adventure Travel Zone, hosted by the Guinness World Record holders for the longest journey in a scooter and sidecar, Matt Bishop and Reece Gilkes. Leading motorcycle explorers will reveal this year’s best long-distance travel locations, offering crucial travel tips.

Advice

The Adventure Zone will feature advice from round-the-world rider Nick Sanders, Tiffany Coates talking about being the world’s foremost female motorcycle adventurer and Austin Vince, the man behind the cult motorcycle movies Mondo Enduro and Terra Circa.

Triumph will be bringing the 2023 Street Triple Family

The Sidecar Guys will recall how they travelled 34,000 miles through 35 countries and five continents over 15 months.

Tom Warsop, Marketing Director of Devitt Insurance, sponsoring the show, said: “We’ve been a part of the London Motorcycle Show for many years, and it’s always been a firm favourite in the motorcycle calendar. We’re delighted to be the title sponsor, joining a fantastic list of exhibitors on our doorstep in East London. The Supersprint is going to be a great spectacle with bikes blasting down the centre of the hall. We’ll be running a couple of our own bikes down there too!”
