McDonald's has been hit with a tomato shortage, meaning its Big Tasty has had to be modified.
Branches of the fast food chain across the UK are affected, with the popular burger having to be served with just one slice of tomato rather than two.
The franchise said it is "working hard to resolve this issue as quickly as possible".
A spokesperson said: “We are currently experiencing a shortage in our supply of tomatoes.
"As a result, the Big Tasty and the Big Tasty with Bacon are being served with one slice of tomato rather than two.
"We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their patience."
The Big Tasty consists of a large, thick patty topped with Emmental cheese tomato, lettuce, slivered onions and bacon as an option.
It's been a huge hit among fast food fans but is only available for a limited amount of time each year - often just a few weeks at a time.
It has previously left so many customers wondering why it isn't always on the menu that last year McDonald's actually put up an explanation on its website.
A statement said: "Unfortunately, though it's a customer favourite, we're unable to offer the Big Tasty all year round because of the limited capacity in our kitchens.
"If we offered it all year, we wouldn't have the space to grill the other promotional burgers which are also super popular.
"But always keep your eyes peeled, Big Tasty fans."
And the tomato shortage is not the first time McDonald's food has been impacted by supply issues.
In August last year no milkshakes or bottled drinks were available in any of its outlets across England, Scotland and Wales for a brief period.
A shortage of lorry drivers due to new EU immigration rules and Covid restrictions at the time was understood to be behind the supply problem.
A spokesperson for McDonald’s said: "Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products.
"Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.
"We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank our customers for their continued patience."
