McDonald's slashes price of popular menu items by more than 60% this Bank Holiday

Fast food giant McDonald's is celebrating the Bank Holiday by slashing the prices of popular menu items, as a special treat for customers.

McDonald's fans can snap up a saving of more than 60% on a hero lunch item today, but you'll need to be quick.

The fast food giant has cut the price of its McChicken Sandwich, which you can buy for just £1.39, instead of £3.69 – making it less than half price.

The McChicken Sandwich comes with crispy coated chicken, lettuce and their sandwich sauce, served on a sesame-topped bun.

But remember, it's for one day only. The discount must be snapped up before 11.59pm on Monday, May 1.

Earlier this morning, the Breakfast Roll was also on offer for £1.99 instead of £3.49. McDonald's fans will be aware that this item is available on the breakfast menu, which is sadly only available until 11am.

Fear not, as you can still tuck into the McChicken at a discounted price. The deal is available exclusively via the McDonald's app, which you can download on the fast food restaurant's website.

You can order for collection in a restaurant, or even get it delivered to your door.

Customers using the app will also be able to earn points on the deals using the My McDonald's Reward scene.

This means you'll get a Rewards point for every penny spent – which in turn unlocks even more deals.

This week, you'll get 199 points when buying a Breakfast Roll, and 139 for a McChicken Sandwich.

For every 1,500 points you earn you can claim popular menu items, including a small Fries, Hash Brown or Side Salad.

Meanwhile, for 2,500 points you can claim a Double Cheeseburger or Vegetable Deluxe. If you have 4,000 points you can choose six Chicken Nuggets or a Big Mac.
