McDonald’s is increasing the price of a number of items on its menu by 10p to 20p due to rising inflation. Most of the price rises will kick in this summer.
McDonald's only gave one example of the changes - its cheeseburger, which will go up in price from 99p to £1.19. The restaurant has not raised its cheeseburger prices for 14 years, reports The Mirror.
Alistair Macrow, McDonald's UK and Ireland chief executive, said: "We’re living through incredibly challenging times and we’re all seeing the cost of everyday items, such as food and energy, increase in a way many of us have never experienced. Just like you, our company, our franchisees who own and operate our restaurants, and our suppliers are all feeling the impact of rising inflation."
