McDonald's Monopoly has officially returned for 2022 and there are some huge prizes that fans can get their hands on this year - including a MINI electric car.
The global fast-food chain's popular giveaway game has made its long-awaited return today and it is set to become the biggest and best ever version.
This year's version of the game is set to run for six weeks - ending on Tuesday, October 18 - and gives Maccies fans the fun opportunity to win some 'free' food, or a more extravagant prize, if they are. And what's even better, is that this year's game has seen the introduction of the brand new 'double peel' feature which is set to give customers an extra chance of winning. Not bad, right?

How does McDonald's Monopoly work?
McDonald's launched its now iconic in store promotion back in 2005 and it works fairly similar to the classic family board game that we all know and love.
Customers can collect game pieces on select hot and cold orders they purchase which can then be used to win some free prizes.
Each game piece works like a sticker that can be peeled from the packaging of your food to reveal some prizes. These can include instant wins, such as a free McFlurry, fries, wrap, etc), or a street that fans will know from the Monopoly game.
You can claim any of the 'instant wins' at any McDonald's branches across the UK by handing over the token at the counter when you are ordering.
Game pieces can also be cashed in via the touch screens in any store or on the My McDonald's App with a 12 digit code.

How to redeem your prize
There are multiple different ways that you can redeem your Monopoly prize this year. Instant win prizes can be collected by handing over the peeled off token at the counter in any UK branch. They can also be cashed in at the touch screen kiosk with a 12 digit code.
For any free food that you have won on the online game, a unique QR code, along with a 12 digit code will be sent to you that can be scanned at the till or kiosk.
However for the bigger prizes, you will need to redeem these online as they are not available in any branch. Each winning token will come with a printed website address for you to visit and redeem the prize.
Some of the bigger prizes may ask you to enter some personal details; including email address, telephone number, full name and address.
You will then be asked your preferred method of receiving said prize, which can be sent via an email voucher or in the post.
Ways to boost you chances of winning this year
McDonald's Monopoly really is a game of luck, but there are quite a few ways that you can improve your chances of winning - even if it is just for a free box of fries!
One trick will be to use the game's brand new 'double peel' feature on the McDonald's App. You can get a bonus 'digital peel' for free when you scan your physical property stickers into the McDonald's app – giving you more chances to win.
Customers who are signed up to My McDonald's Rewards Scheme will also be sent out a free 'digital double peel', which will be sent to their email address.
McDonald's Monopoly is available in stores from today until Tuesday, October 18.
