McDonald’s has launched a new loyalty scheme for people who use its app. But how much do customers have to spend before they can get a free Big Mac?
Some schemes like this require customers to spend enormous amounts before they actually get anything back. But the new McDonald’s loyalty app offer doesn’t seem too bad.
Every penny spent gets 1 point - so £1 = 100 points. The breakdown is as follows:
1,500 points or £15 spent gets you: small fries, medium salad, regular McCafe mini McFlurry or a hash brown.
2,500 points or £25 gets: Vegetable Deluxe, Bacon Mayo Chicken, Cheesy Bacon Flatbread, medium Fries or Double Cheeseburger!
4,000 points or £40 gets a Big Mac, Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin, Large Crispy Chicken Salad, 6 Chicken McNuggets or McChicken Sandwich.

McDonald’s Rewards will be open to sign ups from Thursday July 20 and comes after a pilot in the north west earlier this year. People who order and pay through the McDonald’s app and have opted in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards will earn points automatically. Alternatively, customers can get a one-time code, available in the code section of the app, at the start of their order at the drive-thru, kiosk or counter.
Michelle Graham-Clare, of McDonald’s UK and Ireland, said: “We’re incredibly excited to launch the MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme in the UK.
“As well as rewarding our customers with our iconic menu items, we’re delighted to give customers the option of donating points to our brilliant charity partners, which we know will make an incredible difference to the lives of many thousands of young people and families across the country.”
