The coronation of King Charles III is almost here, as the country gears up for a long weekend of celebrations to mark the historic royal event. For many Brits, this will be the first time witnessing the crowning of a new monarch following Queen Elizabeth II’s record-breaking reign.

Charles’ coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6, and will be held at Westminster Abbey in London. The ceremony is due to start at 11am and will see Charles crowned King alongside his wife Camilla, the Queen Consort.

Brits have been given an extra bank holiday to mark the historic event on Monday, May 8, giving the country a three-day weekend to enjoy the celebrations. But many people may be looking forward to tucking into their favourite fast food this weekend and wondering what the King’s coronation means for store opening times.
