McDonald's fans are just discovering a quick and handy way to save money while eating out.
You can get of the most popular McDonald's orders, such as a Big Mac and Vegetable Deluxe, for much cheaper by following a little-known routine involving a code on your receipt.
The chain restaurant is known for its affordable prices and meal deals, and this hack can slash the cost down even more. All you need to take advantage of the offer is a McDonald's receipt issued in the last 60 days, the Sun reports.
You'll find a 12-digit number at the bottom of any receipt that you need to enter into the company's survey website, McDonald's Food for Thought.
Then, once you've answered a couple of short questions, you'll receive a new five-digit code which needs to be written down on the receipt.
Customers can then use this as a voucher in any McDonald's store, where you'll be able to get a Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish or Vegetable Deluxe and chips for just £1.99.
The Big Mac on its own will usually set you back £4.79 which is a massive saving, especially during the cost of living crisis.
You can use the hack as many times as you want, provided you use a different receipt every time.
The 12-digit survey codes are printed on every receipt, regardless of how much you spend - meaning that even the smallest purchases could earn you a discounted meal.
Customers have to be aged 16 or over in order to take advantage of this offer.
Meanwhile, McDonald's also recently announced an exciting new addition to the menu for Veganuary.
The Double McPlant is a larger version of the vegan burger released in 2021, and will be available for people to buy in all UK and Ireland stores from January 4.
