McDonald's customers were left stunned after spotting a rodent running around a restaurant. Footage shows a small grey rodent climbing up the side of chairs before jumping across to a table in the fast-food establishment.
EssexLive reports that the incident occurred at a McDonald's restaurant in Tilbury. The clip of the rodent was shared to social media earlier this week and has since racked 94,000 views and almost 700 comments.
The woman recording the footage of the creature says in the video: "Oh my God. I'm going to have to tell them [the staff]."
The video sparked a lot of interest with people quick to give their thoughts on the incident. Many people have suggested the animal was merely a field mouse.
However, the rodent is yet to be validated by a wild animal expert. Meanwhile, others were quick to joke around about the reason behind the creature's visit.
One person said: "He just wanted a milkshake". Another quipped: "Ah, the new happy meal toy."
Others, were more fearful of the hygiene implications of the creature running around an eating establishment. EssexLive approached McDonald's for a comment but they did not respond in time for publication.
