McDonald's 99p cheeseburger is dead

McDonald's fans have been warned prices of many menu items will jump up this summer as the cost of living crisis continues to bite.

McDonald's UK CEO Alistair Macrow said the price hikes are due to "incredibly challenging times ", and said its company, franchisees and suppliers are all "feeling the impact of rising inflation."

Restaurants across the UK will add between 10p and 20p to a number of menu items. From today (Wednesday), the cost of a cheeseburger will rise from 99p to £1.19.
