Nathan McAndrew and Nathan McSweeney have propelled South Australia to a commanding 186-run win that extends NSW's winless start to the Sheffield Shield summer.
McAndrew pitched in the most dominant individual bowling performance of the competition so far, taking two five-wicket hauls that restricted NSW to scores of 183 and 136 at Adelaide Oval.
It marked the first time the NSW-born paceman, 30, had taken 10 wickets in a first-class match.
When Jackson Bird edged him to gully less than an hour after play began on day four, McAndrew had confirmed figures of 5-19 for the innings and the Blues had lost the game, all out for 136.
At close of play on Wednesday, McAndrew applauded the Redbacks on bouncing back from last-start losses against Tasmania in the Shield and Marsh Cup.
"The boys were all pretty motivated to right those wrongs," he said.
"I don't think it was anything too much outside the processes and the boring stuff, we just did that really well.
"(The NSW win) is obviously the blueprint for us. If we get runs on the board early, give ourselves a target to bowl to, then we've seen what we can do.
"We've got the bowling line-up to take 20 wickets on any surface."
In a typically low-scoring affair, McSweeney starred with the bat, first helping the Redbacks negotiate a tough wicket with 64 runs and finish the first innings all out for 293.
The 24-year-old posted a third first-class century in his second knock before he was bowled by rookie quick Jack Nisbet on 100 to finish South Australia's second innings.
"Yesterday Nathan McSweeney was unbelievable with the bat," McAndrew said.
"Obviously difficult wicket when you bash away, (with) the wicket nipping around, but he stood up and that was an absolutely match-winning performance."
Only veteran Daniel Hughes (58) offered serious fight with the bat as NSW chased 322 runs for victory in the second innings.
A first five-wicket haul for Nisbet (5-53) was the Blues' biggest highlight of the match.
NSW have posted a draw and a loss to begin the Shield summer, which follows their winless 2022/23 first-class campaign.
They will chase their first victory since February 2022 against Victoria from next Thursday, the same day South Australia begin their clash with heavyweights Western Australia.
