A double decker Arriva bus was stuck sideways on a busy Liverpool road causing 'mayhem' during rush hour.
Merseyside Police were called to East Prescot Road, close to Alder Hey Children's Hospital, at around 3.30pm following reports of a bus completely covering one of the carriageways. Once at the scene officers found a double decker Arriva bus had managed to become stuck on the three-lane carriageway.
No traffic was able to pass on the eastbound carriageway running towards Huyton, which caused 'mayhem' during rush hour.

Eye witnesses say people were evacuated from the bus as workmen tried to push it off from the carriageway. Workmen also tried using timber to free the vehicle.
One eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said: "A bus driver drove the wrong way on East Prescot Road, realised his mistake and reversed and tried to do a three point turn and has got completely stuck. Traffic was stood still from the Swan and people were driving over the grass."
The bus was eventually removed from the road at around 4.50pm and is now facing the wrong way on East Prescot Road taking up one lane of traffic.
