TV and radio presenter Maya Jama is set to be heading to the Love Island villa as the new host. Former presenter Laura Whitmore announced she was stepping down from the show at the end of the 2022 series.
Since Laura's announcement there has been a lot of speculation about who will be the new host. It has now been reported that Maya will be taking over the role.
A source told The Sun: "Maya was ITV’s dream option. She is fun, beautiful and a brilliant presenter. She was discussed as a possible replacement for Caroline two years ago — but now the time is right...

"They’re just in the process of finalising the last few details — but barring any huge surprises she will be announced formally very soon. They are just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s."
When announcing Laura's departure from the show ITV said that a new host will be announced in due course and thanked Laura for her work. They said: "Laura has been a fantastic host across the last three series of the show. We are so grateful for everything she has brought to the programme but understand and respect her decision, and we look forward to working with her on upcoming ITV projects."
It is believed Maya has taken the role and that bosses are finalising her contract. Maya is set to make her debut on the show in January 2023 for winter Love Island, which will be filmed in South Africa.
It is thought Maya, who is worth around £2.5million, will also host the dating show’s summer edition from Majorca. Others who were rumoured to be in the running for the role include former Love Islander Maura Higgins and 2022 winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu.
