Nyong'o, Gurira, Wright and Coel all wore silver and black.

The 2018 original Black Panther, directed by Ryan Coogler, became the first superhero film to receive a best picture nomination at the Academy Awards.

Noted as being the first superhero films to use a primarily black cast, Black Panther was one of the final films to star Chadwick Boseman - who died from cancer in 2020.

Marvel chose not to recast his role of T'Challa for the sequel. The character is said to have died off screen and the plot picks up with the kingdom of Wakanda facing a new kind of threat.

Wright will play a larger role in the sequel than in the original as Shuri, princess of Wakanda.

The film will be released in UK cinemas from November 11.
