Maya Jama came in for plenty of praise from Love Island viewers on Monday night, over her 'encouraging' first words to the new girls in the villa.
Having replaced Laura Whitmore as presenter of the popular ITV2 dating show in time for the second winter series at the start of the year, Maya is right at the heart of the action again this summer, as Love Island makes the switch from South Africa back to Mallorca.
The new series kicked off at 9pm on Monday, as millions of fans tuned in to watch and, in a big first for the show and a major change to the format this year, the boys and girls went into the villa at the same time, rather than them being separated and then forced to choose someone to couple up with.
Before any of the pairs had been announced, Maya strutted into the villa and said something straight away to put the girls at ease and give their confidence a boost. Joining the Islanders round the fire pit, former Walk The Line host Maya remarked: "“girls you look stunning… boys you look alright too."
Reacting to Maya's comment, one fan took to Twitter to post: "Maya Jama is THAT girl and she knows it" with another responding: "Maya Jama is so beautiful. I’ve missed seeing her on my TV. She’s such a great host as well!!"
Maya was back in the villa on the Islanders' first night on the show, 'daring' them to ditch the couple they were in to pursue things elsewhere.
