Maya Jama responds to Laura Whitmore BRITs tension saying rumours are 'silly'

Love Island host Maya Jama looked very happy with herself after hosting an incredible BRITs afterparty following the awards ceremony on Saturday night (February 11). It had been a long day for Maya, 28, who had just landed back in the UK after a lavish getaway in Dubai with her nearest and dearest friends hours before getting her glam on for the music awards.

Despite her busy day, the Bristolian bombshell pulled out all the stops for her friends after the ceremony. She organised a boat party on the River Thames and dazzled onlookers as she stepped off the vessel following a successful night of partying, The Mirror reports.

Maya was seen strutting her stuff at the Savoy Pier in an eye-catching silver sequinned dress, which exposed her glowing skin with a one-shoulder detail and deep split up to the top of her thigh. Maya sparkled as she strided through London in a towering pair of strappy heels and kept it simple on the jewellery front, opting for small hoop earrings.

Maya's lengthy raven locks were slicked back into a sleek updo and she accentuated her natural beauty with a full glam makeup look. Her successful night on the water came after reported tension between her and former Love Island host Laura Whitmore, who stepped away from the ITV2 show after three seasons last year.

Laura and Maya were sat on the same table during the awards ceremony at The O2 Arena on Saturday evening, but a source claimed to MailOnline that the two Love Island frontwomen did not speak to each other once. Snaps and videos from the event appeared to show the presenters sat at the ITV table without engaging in conversation with each other.

A source told MailOnline: "Maya and Laura were sat on the ITV table together but didn't speak to each other once during the whole ceremony. At one point they were stood with their backs to each other.

"Maya was happily speaking to Laura's husband Iain Stirling but didn't chat to Laura once. There is definitely some tension between them."

However, the pair have since hit back at the claims. Writing on her Instagram story yesterday, Maya said the speculation was "silly", adding: "I think very highly of @thewhitmore and think she's an angel." Laura had also called out the rumours about them being on bad terms, saying they had simply been talking to other people at their table at the time the photo was taken.

After a long day of travelling, getting ready and celebrating, Maya went straight from the BRIT Awards to her boat party, which she was hosting on behalf of Coca-Cola for the brand's Creations limited edition Movement launch. She clearly had a lot of fun, as numerous clips of the party girl were posted on social media, in which she could be seen twerking and dancing.

Maya spent much of the night with DJ Corey as she helped him spin the decks whilst her friends danced and sang along to the star's music selections. Some of her celebrity guests invited to the exclusive bash included Jesse Lingard, AJ Odudu, Snoochie Shy, Chunkz and Poet.

Partygoers were treated to incredible views across the Capital from the vessel, which journeyed up and down the River Thames, affording a panoramic perspective of the city at night, including landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. After a busy day and wild night of letting her hair down, Maya was escorted home in a taxi, in which she scoffed down a McDonald's and sipped a bottle of water.
