Maxx Crosby Leaves No Doubt Whom He Wants as Raiders Head Coach

The Las Vegas Raiders search for a new head coach is ongoing, as the organization aims to hire its third full-time head coach in four years. However, the Raiders’ best player is making it known that he wants a familiar face to lead the franchise.

Before the season ended, Maxx Crosby publicly stood behind interim head coach Antonio Pierce for the permanent position. On Friday, the veteran pass rusher took to social media to further his support for Pierce, using a simple hashtag to express his opinion.

Pierce took over midseason after Las Vegas fired Josh McDaniels, and the former linebacker led the Raiders to a 5–4 record over their final nine games. He instantly became a favorite among both players and fans, in large part because of his emotional attachment to the team.

Crosby is not the first Raider to publicly support Pierce, with the team as a whole expressing its desire for him to remain the head coach. Star wide receiver Davante Adams explained that he is one of many to prefer Pierce over a new voice.

“It’s obviously who I wanted,” Adams said earlier this month. “That’s my vote, and I’ve been vocal about that, and that’s basically how the whole locker room feels with good reason. He’s come in and done a great job and it’s continued to win us over. It’s not just the comfortable thing, I think having AP here would be good for this organization.”

Pierce is exploring his options as well, as he is scheduled to interview for the Tennessee Titans’ open job, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. If it was up to Crosby, though, Pierce would not be going anywhere.
