Matt Kilgallon believes the arrival of Max Wober has brought the best out of Leeds United left-back Junior Firpo.
Firpo has struggled since joining Leeds from Barcelona in the summer of 2021 but he has been restored into the starting XI in recent weeks. He scored the decisive goal as Leeds defeated Southampton 1-0 at Elland Road on Saturday and climbed out of the relegation zone.
Wober has been a welcome addition to the back-line since signing from Red Bull Salzburg in January, and ex-Leeds defender Kilgallon believes the Austrian has been key to Firpo's recent revival.

“I like Wober, I really do. Some of his tackles, his timing is very good, isn’t it. His covering is good. It might be why Firpo’s playing well as well,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.
“As a back four today, they were solid. They played at the right time, but they also defended at the right time. Didn’t have loads to do. I think Wober made an unbelievable diving header.”
