For the second time in as many years, Max Verstappen took the podium in Miami.
The two-time defending world champion rallied all the way to the front of the pack after starting Sunday’s Miami Grand Prix in ninth place, claiming his third win in five starts this season.
Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez came in second place, marking the fourth time this season that Verstappen and Pérez have finished in the top two positions. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso finished in third place, while George Russell of Mercedes came in fourth, and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz finished in fifth.

“Just had a clean race,” Verstappen said after the victory. “Picked the cars off, one by one … then a good little battle with [Pérez] at the end, so we all kept it clean and that’s most important. Great win today.”
With Verstappen’s three wins and Pérez’s two, Red Bull has won all five races this season, holding a commanding lead in the conductor standings. Red Bull sits atop with 224 points, with Aston Martin in second at 102 points and Mercedes in third at 96.
The Formula 1 season will continue with the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, Italy, on May 21, followed by the Monaco Grand Prix on May 28.
