Mavericks guard Luka Dončić is missing Friday’s game against the Grizzlies, but he has a very good excuse to be sitting out. The 24-year-old Slovenian announced the birth of his first child on Friday with his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes.
Goltes gave birth to a baby girl, whom the couple named Gabriela. Dončić revealed the news to the world on an Instagram post, which showed him and his fiancée holding his new daughter. Dončić paired the post with a simple caption that just said “Gabriela” with two hearts.

Dončić and Goltes have been engaged since the Mavericks star proposed in Slovenia in July.
After Dallas hosts Memphis on Friday, the Mavericks have a quick turnaround with a home game against the Thunder on Saturday. If Dončić doesn't return then, he would not play until the Mavericks’ next game vs. the Jazz on Wednesday.
Dončić has played in 17 games this season, averaging 31.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game and leading Dallas to an 11-6 record.
