Mauricio Pochettino to leave PSG 'imminently' as Tottenham push for sensational Premier League return

Mauricio Pochettino is set to leave Paris Saint-Germain just a day after sealing the Ligue 1 title, according to a report.

The French giants cantered to the league trophy - the first of Pochettino's managerial career - but his tenure at the club has been a troubled one.

Pochettino was booed by PSG fans ahead of their title-clinching fixture - a 1-1 draw with Lens on Saturday.

A dramatic Champions League exit to Real Madrid heaped pressure on the Argentine and now Le Parisien report he is on the verge of departing.

Pochettino and his coaching staff have a further year remaining on their contracts and it's said PSG must pay €15m to sack them.

A separate report from Get French Football News claims Tottenham owner Daniel Levy is pushing hard to bring the club's former manager back to London.

Pochettino led Spurs to a Champions League Final and a second-placed Premier League finish during a successful tenure.

The report says talks between Levy and Pochettino have been ongoing for for months.

Throw in rumours that current Spurs boss Antonio Conte has offered himself to PSG and it's clear this is a situation which could escalate dramatically at the end of the season.
