Mauricio Pochettino provides fresh update on PSG future amid Tottenham claims

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that he will "100%" be at Paris Saint-Germain next season amid rumours he could be returning to Tottenham Hotspur.

The 50-year-old has been linked with a move back to Spurs after failing to deliver success in the Champions League with PSG this term. Les Parisiens were knocked out of the competition in the last-16 against Real Madrid despite leading 2-0 in the tie.

Kylian Mbappe had given PSG the lead going into the second-leg, before the Frenchman scored the opener at the Santiago Bernabau. However, a Karim Benzema hat-trick turned the game on its head to seal Los Blancos' passage into the quarter-final.

PSG have already secured the Ligue 1 title - Pochettino's first professional career league triumph. They currently sit 13 points ahead of second-place Marseille with four games to play.

Lionel Messi, Georginio Wijnaldum and Sergio Ramos were all signed last summer in an attempt to push on, but PSG were still unable to get past Carlo Ancelotti's side. That result has put Pochettino under extreme pressure, with rumours suggesting he could be sacked at the end of the season.

Antonio Conte has been linked with the job and reportedly asked Paris Saint-Germain to almost double his salary if he is to be prized away from Tottenham Hotspur. According to RMC Sport, Conte is currently on an estimated €17million a year at Tottenham after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo back in October.

However, the figure he is hoping to for is around €30m which would possibly make him one of the highest-paid managers in Europe alongside Diego Simeone. He also wants to join with his sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi and would like to see a number of their playing squad leave as part of a mass exodus.

However, ahead of PSG's trip to Strasbourg on Friday, Pochettino revealed he is staying at the club next season. He also confirmed Mbappe is set to remain at the French club despite being linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Premier League.

"There haven't been any concrete talks, beyond what is normal in terms of our plans with what we have been doing so far," he said. "We have a natural relationship, we communicate regarding different topics.

"Of course, they change depending on the circumstances at the time but the relationship and the communication are good. We keep working hard, not just bearing in mind the present, but also with the responsibility in this job which is to think about the future, so that is what we are doing.

"That [the fact me and Mbappe are staying] is how I feel today. That is what I can say to you today. I can't say anything else. That is how I feel right now.

"This is football, and we never know what might happen. But I have to answer the question based on how I feel today. And this is what I have done."
