The Mauricio Pochettino era has arrived at Chelsea FC. The former Tottenham and PSG boss officially became the Blues' head coach on Saturday but entered Cobham on Monday morning ready to tackle his first day of pre-season with his new players.
Of course, not everyone will be present with the senior side having a plethora of return dates depending on whether they played international football. Levi Colwill, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke are still in the midst of the Under-21 European Championships as they reached the semi-finals of the competition.
The new Blues boss arrived in the car park of Chelsea's training ground joined by Jesus Perez and Sebastiano Pochettino. A member of Chelsea staff opened the door of his vehicle for Pochettino to greet him with affection before saying 'morning,' to a group of people unsurprisingly awaiting his arrival.
The 51-year-old coach was soon becoming reacquainted with members of his coaching staff as he embraced both Toni Jiminez and Miguel D'Agostino before his attention turned to the direction of the building and some new introductions. Ever the gentleman, Pochettino started the first of what is set to be many introductions.
"How are you? All good? Nice to meet you," he said.
Chelsea's new coach will now get to work both getting his squad up to fitness and implementing his philosophy. The early days of Pochettino's tenure will include tactical meetings and plenty of physical work too.
