Maura Higgins to host reboot of ITV’s Blind Date

  • Iconic dating show Blind Date is returning to screens next year on the streaming service Disney+.
  • Former Love Island star Maura Higgins has been confirmed as the host for the new series.
  • The reboot will retain the original format, which saw contestants choose between three potential dates hidden by a wall.
  • First broadcast on ITV in 1985 with host Cilla Black, the classic show ran until 2003 and attracted peak audiences of 18.2 million.
  • “Fans can expect a host of innovative format twists and a spicy dose of drama,” Disney+ said in a press release.
