Taylor Swift used Matty Healy as "a rebound" following the end of her six-year romance with Joe Alwyn, according to a relationship expert.
The pair are thought to have split after just one month of dating, despite their romance seeming to heat up amid rumours Matty was set to move in with the superstar.
News of their romance first broke just weeks after Taylor and Joe split, with dating coach Kate Mansfield suggesting Matty and Taylor were "just casual".
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: "Taylor Swift and Matty Healy's break up after just a month of dating could be down to several reasons.
"Press rumours suggest that their busy schedules don't allow for things to develop, but ultimately even busy celebs will find time for love, IF it's the real deal!"
Kate added: "This suggests that this connection may have just been something casual, or even a rebound for Taylor after her split from Joe Alwyn."
The relationship coach warned others about entering into a rebound relationship as she said they "rarely" work out.
"It's very tempting to fall into the arms of someone else to get over a break up, but it rarely works out for these relationships and always best to take a little time out between partners to process feelings and to fully become available again," she told us.
However, Kate added: "Sometimes though, a bit of fun can help to heal the heartbreak.
"As long as it's honest, no harm in it really as long as we are clear from the off what the relationship is."
News of Taylor and Matty's romance came as they were spotted out and about in New York together, with Matty even supporting Taylor at her Nashville gigs in April.
He was also seen accompanying the Shake It Off hitmaker as they left the Electric Lady recording studio in New York.
Their romance started weeks after she ended things with Joe Alwyn after struggling to make things work.
