Australia's vice-captain Tahlia McGrath says the blistering form of Hayley Matthews in the white-ball series against West Indies has come as no surprise.
Ahead of the the 50-over leg of the Windies' tour, which begins in Brisbane on Sunday, McGrath says disruption and variety will be key to preventing Matthews bludgeoning more big totals.
The West Indies opener was the stand-out player in the Twenty20 series between the sides, despite Australia winning two of this month's three matches.
Matthews, 25, began the series with an unbeaten 99 runs in a losing effort at North Sydney Oval, before belting 132 from 64 balls in the second match.
She guided the tourists to a seven-wicket win with that knock and threatened to explode again before being caught on 79 in the series-deciding third match.
Matthews stormed into the record books with her batting, becoming the first player to score 300 runs in a three-match women's T20 international series.
With the ball, she has taken the equal-most wickets of any West Indies player this series (five), including a tidy 3-36 in the second match.
"She's been a quality player for probably the last 12 to 18 months, her game's just gone to another level," allrounder McGrath said.
"I wouldn't say (we were) surprised but wow, she's been in some pretty good form and very hard to stop.
"Hopefully she doesn't get away from us in this 50-over series."
Matthews pulled up sore with a leg injury in Thursday's final match of the T20 series but was hopeful of playing in the first one-day international (ODI) meeting between the sides, at Brisbane's Allan Border Field.
West Indies have been keeping their their cards close to their chest over her availability.
"Whether she plays or whether she does not play, we're here as a team," batter Chinelle Henry said.
"Regardless of the XI that plays tomorrow, we're going to go out there and put up a fight."
McGrath said remaining adaptable would be key to neutralising Matthews throughout the ODI series.
"Someone in that good of form, you've got to have a few plans," she said.
"We've got a few up our sleeve. It's going to be really interesting to see how she approaches the longer format.
"You've just got to keep disrupting; whether that's her bat swing, some short stuff, some yorkers.
"You've just got to keep changing it because players like that, especially in the T20 format, you can't bowl the same ball twice."
