Matthew Stafford unlikely to play vs. Packers, Puka Nacua expected to be active

It’ll most likely be Brett Rypien under center for the Los Angeles Rams against the Green Bay Packers today. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Matthew Stafford isn’t expected to play today due to a UCL sprain, which he suffered last week in the Rams’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

He didn’t practice all week and Sean McVay wouldn’t confirm whether Stafford could even grip a football on Friday, so it always seemed unlikely that he would play this weekend, especially with the Rams having a bye in Week 10.

There is some good news, though: Puka Nacua is expected to play against Green Bay despite dealing with a knee injury.

Adam Schefter of ESPN added that while Stafford is unlikely to play, the Rams are going to give him as much time as possible before making a decision on his availability, as McVay said on Friday.

He’ll go through a pre-game workout to test it out, according to Jordan Schultz, but it still seems unlikely that he’ll play.
