Actor Matthew McConaughey has called for tighter gun controls in the United States in a highly charged and emotional 22-minute speech which left the White House silent.
At one point the Oscar-winner became emotional describing how victim Maite Yuleana Rodriguez could only be identified by her favourite green Converse shoes after she was shot and killed.
“These are the same green Converse on her feet that turned out to be the only clear evidence that could identify her after the shooting, how about that?”
