There has been backlash following New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones’ recent arrest for attempting to bring firearms on a flight at the Logan Airport on Friday.
It was about a month ago that Jones was calling out NBA superstar Ja Morant for his issues with social media and guns. Now, Jones finds himself on the wrong end of gun trouble.
That has prompted some to reshare Jones’ previous social media comments aimed at Morant to point out the hypocrisy. However, Jones teammate, Patriots star linebacker Matthew Judon, came to his defense with a post on Monday.
“Don’t let someone’s low light be you own high light. We help this turns out better for the kid,” Judon posted on Twitter.

Unlike Morant, Jones is facing two counts of multiple charges, including possession of a concealed weapon in a secure area of an airport, possession of ammunition without a Firearm Identification Card, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity feeding device.
The Patriots released a statement on the matter over the weekend.
“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time,” the statement from the Patriots read, per the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.
