New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon had positive praise for the Patriots. It’s clear he likes playing in New England, and he doubled down on those feelings in an appearance on The Jim Rome Show.
Judon has been a key linchpin for the Patriots defense. The 30-year-old has been a sack machine ever since his arrival. He has recorded 28 sacks in two seasons with the Patriots, after coming over as a free agent in March 2021. The 2022 campaign saw him record 15.5 sacks, which was the highest number in his career.
He made it clear that he loves being a member of the Patriots, as transcribed by PatsPulpit’s Bernd Buchmasser.
“I actually love everything about it,” he recently said on the Jim Rome Show. “I love the Boston seaport, downtown area, and I just like the camaraderie amongst the teams. I was in Maryland, where our next closest team was in D.C. But we get love from the [Celtics], from the Bruins, from the Red Sox — everybody out there is showing us love, and we do it to them and just support each other.
“I really like that, and I really like the town. But, most importantly, I love playing football. So, the Patriot Way is my way. I like being in the building. I enjoy the people around the building. I really just like being there.”
It is certainly refreshing to hear, given that many players have spoken out against playing in New England. If anything, it just shows that every experience is different.
Having an impact player like Judon buying in, even when coming off a losing season, is a huge win for the Patriots.
