Busted star Matt Willis has described how he “absolutely” knew that his co-star Charlie Simpson was Rhino on The Masked Singer. Earlier this year, Charlie was declared this year’s winner of the ITV guessing game show - read more about that here.
Chatting to Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas on The One Show following the announcement that Busted would be doing a 20-year reunion tour, conversation quickly turned to Charlie’s stint on The Masked Singer.
“You were onto Charlie, surely?” Jermaine asked Matt and fellow band member James Bourne. Matt quickly replied: “Charlie took that NDA very seriously. He didn’t tell us and my mate sent me a clip and was like, ‘Charlie right?’ and I said, ‘Absolutely’.”

Jermaine then asked: “What was it? Was it just the twang of the voice?” and Matt said: “Well I’ve sat next to him for 20 years so as soon as I heard him, I was like ‘woah’.” James then jumped in and echoed: "It's pretty obvious".
Charlie, himself, shared that he didn’t try and “hide” his voice whilst on The Masked Singer. He explained: “I know that some people do [try and hide their voice] but I didn’t really want to do that so I did think a lot of people perhaps would notice me but I had a great time doing the show.”
On Thursday, March 23, Busted announced that they’d be going on a reunion tour with 15 UK dates. The Year 3000 band also announced a new single called Loser Kid 2.0 featuring Simple Plan which will be released in April. American pop band Hanson, best known for their 1997 hit MMMBop, will join the trio on tour.
