It isn’t very often that a player nails a game-winning shot while turning an ankle in the process, but that is exactly how Boston Celtics forward Matt Ryan ended his game against the Las Vegas Summer League iteration of the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night.
Ryan helped pull off an improbable 111-109 win against the Summer Bucks with a late heave as he fell to the ground, reinjuring an ankle he’d tweaked earlier in the game. It was part of an impressive performance from Ryan as he lead the team with 23 points off of the bench while shooting a very healthy 7-of-12 from the field and 6-of-11 from beyond the arc.
Ryan has made as good a case as anyone for a roster spot with Boston for the 2022-23 season ahead whether on a two way deal or a full roster spot.
If you’d like some evidence in favor of that position, watch the clip embedded below to see his highlights against Milwaukee on Monday courtesy of YouTuber Tomasz Kordylewski.
