Matt Palmer is enjoying another impressive season in a Notts County shirt as his influential performances in midfield continue to highlight his importance to Luke Williams' side.
The Magpies secured the signature of the 27-year-old at the start of the 2021/22 season, with the club announcing on Christmas Day that the midfielder had extended his stay at Meadow Lane until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
An impactful debut campaign saw Palmer scoop both the Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Season awards, with his calmness and quality in possession perfectly lending itself to the club’s playing philosophy this season.

Palmer started his first game alongside newest recruit John Bostock on New Year's Day at Boundary Park, making his first league start for the Magpies since joining the club at the start of December.
And with the wealth of experience the 30-year-old provides, Palmer explained that Bostock's arrival at the club has allowed him to try and pick up new things to add to his game but insisted that the entire team is learning about each other which has contributed to their success this season.
"You can always learn from every player, you play with everyone at the club and they all have different qualities.
"He has played at a good standard and you can tell, he is very comfortable on the ball.
"I have been partnered with him in the last game and in training which is nice because you get to know each other's games so when you go into a match you know how the other person works.
"You pick up stuff from John's game, you pick up stuff from everyone else's game to be fair, and that is the good thing about this team because everyone is learning from everyone."
While Palmer is more known for his position at the base of the midfield, this season Williams has looked to try to involve the midfielder further up the pitch.
His involvement in the final third has become influential and was evident in their 2-2 draw with Oldham on New Year's Day, providing an incisive pass in behind the Oldham defence that eventually led to Cedwyn Scott's goal.
Palmer was able to detail the conversations with the Notts boss about the position he wants him to play but insisted he has had to adapt to please his new manager.
"As soon as the gaffer came in he wanted me to play as the four which is the deepest or he wanted me to play a little bit further forward which is the six.
"He wants me to interchange into both of them which as a player I like because then I can not only come and get the ball from deep, I can join in when the boys are going forward.
"It have had to adapt my game slightly and it has brought out other things that I am doing rather than just playing from deep which is nice."
