Matt Hancock's girlfriend seems to be rubbing along nicely without him in Australia - as she spent a day at the beach with other I'm A Celebrity contestants' friends and family.
Gina Coladangelo, 45, was spotted on the golden sands of Surfers' Paradise alongside new friends including Lioness Jill Scott's partner Shelly Unitt. The pair were seen chatting for hours and even rubbed suntan lotion in for each other, in a sign of their closeness.
Gina has plenty to smile about as Hancock has exceeded expectations to remain in the jungle for the final weekend.
In slight contrast to Gina and Shelly, in the camp footballer Jill and shamed MP Hancock are fighting it out to win the contest and it is thought Jill may not be totally thrilled with the MP's decision to ditch his day job to come into camp.
After he was evicted on Thursday night, Chris Moyles told how Jill was asking Mr Hancock about his future plans and he could only bluster an answer.
Moyles said: "We were in a holding area waiting to do a team challenge, Jill was sat opposite him(Hancock) and asked 'so when you finish this are you going back to being an MP?'. And he took a swig out of his water bottle that I swear to god lasted 15 seconds.
"And Jill was looking at him waiting for an answer and then eventually looked at me and made a face and just looked away. The moment she looked away he finished drinking and went 'er, erm, yeah. I would like to' and kind of mumbled. I just burst out laughing, so awkward from such an innocent question."
Gina first hit the headlines in June 2021 when Hancock was forced to resign as Health Secretary after CCTV footage surfaced of him embracing his then aide Gina.
It came at a time when this would breach his own rules on physical contact.
The shock footage ended his 15 year marriage although Hancock and Gina have since begun a serious relationship of their own.
In camp Babatúndé Aleshe asked Hancock about the footage and said: “Are you still with the lady?”
He replied: “With Gina? Yeah very much so, yeah, totally. That’ll be the best thing about being kicked out, seeing her on the bridge.”
It also emerged last week Gina has quit her job in marketing and communications for a charity, after spending less than two months in the role.
Records at Companies House show that she joined UK Youth as a director on September 22 and quit on November 2, shortly after Hancock’s controversial TV appearance was announced.
The news has led to speculation that the couple are planning a media career outside of politics, and that Hancock may leave his role as an MP.
When she landed in Australia, a smiling Gina had nothing but praise for Hancock and said: "I have been watching the show, it would be difficult not to be impressed, he has done really well."
