Matt Hancock had an emotional greeting for Gina Colangelo as he left I'm A Celebrity in third place on Sunday night, to be reunited with his other half on the set of the ITV show.
Former Health Secretary Hancock quit his job after stills of CCTV footage of him and Gina kissing in a Downing Street office surfaced, with their clinch coming at at time when the strict guidance for the population was to limit social contact with people from other households. Hancock ended up leaving his wife for government aide Gina and when asked by his I'm A Celebrity co-stars why he did what he did, he used the excuse of "falling in love," for both his cheating and flouting rules that he himself helped to enforce.
Going into Sunday's final and after Mike Tindall' s shock exit a night earlier, bookies named Hancock as their second favourite to win, with him overtaking one time favourite Owen Warner in the odds. However, after causing an upset by beating Mike to the final, Hancock's luck ran out as he finished in third, leaving Jill and Owen to go head to head for the win.
