Matt Hancock eliminated from ITV I'm a Celebrity and fans couldn't believe it as they all spotted same detail about his gruelling final trial

When he arrived at Brisbane Airport at the start of this month, former health secretary Matt Hancock said he was going to Australia to join I’m A Celebrity so he could "go to where the people are — not to sit in ivory towers in Westminster." The West Suffolk MP, who has been suspended by the Tory party in the wake of his controversial signing being revealed, made it all the way to the final of the show despite earlier predictions that he would be first to leave.

The politician, who was health secretary during the Covid-19 pandemic, was placed in the final three along with Lioness Jill Scott and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner. For his final trial Matt played for the desserts in Flood Your Face.

Host Declan Donnelly explained: “You’ll sit in here with your head in the tank which will fill with water. You’ll have a snorkel to breathe through and you’ll stay in there for five minutes. You’ll win a star for each minute you endure." He sat through various critters being added around his face - including eels, yabbies and water spiders.

And as he was flooded with water, viewers pointed out the same thing as they clocked the background music. @signedyourname_ tweeted: "Why are they playing 'Running up that Hill” by Kate Bush?"

@masterbestmilf asked: "Kate Bush playing in the background???" @folkloreia fumed: "The disrespect to kate bush for playing running up that hill to MATT HANCOCK."

@wlwclara raged: "How dare they play kate bush while matt hancock does a trial."@c1nderhella joked: "Kate Bush bushtucker rendition..."@Sonic_Screwup tweeted: "How dare they put Hancock’s trial to Kate Bush."

@katyrchrds protested: "No NO Matt does NOT deserve Kate Bush." And @ciarapollock said: "Naur leave kate bush out of this." Katie's classic 1985 single Running Up That Hill was given a whole new lease of life earlier this year with its starring role in a crucial scene in the Netflix drama Stranger Things.

After Ant and Dec arrived in camp to say he had come in third place Matt said: "I wanted to be myself and striongly believe that for politicians on a whole, we don't come across as human enough."

And he said about receiving a grilling from his fellow campmates: "I was expecting that. Some of those grillings were really enjoyable and some were very emotional."

Asked if he could understand that reaction to his controversial arrival as a latecomer to the camp, he said: "Of course. I'm grateful we had grown up conversations about it."

Matt, who was greeted on his exit by girlfriend girlfriend Gina Coladangelo, added: "I know it was controversial me coming here but we're all different. I went into here to be totally myself as if the cameras weren't on."
