The account wrote: "So sad, we’ve said Goodbye to Isla, our oldest & smallest cairn at 13yrs. She was sweet natured, kind, tough, fast as lightning, and a patient gentle Mum.
"She was the one with the voice to let us know when they all wanted to be in or be out.. We’ll miss her #cairnterrier #doglovers #friendforlife."
And Matt also took to his personal Instagram account to comment on the post, writing: "The reason we love dogs so much is the only time they break our hearts is when they leave us."
Friends and followers of Matt were quick to comment on the sad news, with Steps singer Ian Watkins, writing: "Big hugs."
Meanwhile, a follower said: "So sorry to hear that. I am sure Isla has the very best life with you all. Sending love to you all and to Isla's doggy friends/family," while another added: "So sad that Isla has crossed the rainbow bridge to doggy heaven. It’s always a huge wrench when pets leave us. Sending love and hugs to all your family. Xx."
A third went on: "You are all in my thoughts," with a fourth penning: "Bless that beautiful face. But I know she will have had the best life with you all. X."
