Rangers have completed the deadline day signing of Poland U21 international Mateusz Zukowski from Lechia Gdasnk.
The 20-year-old becomes Giovanni van Bronckhorst ’s third addition of the January window after signing a three-and-a-half year deal.
Zukowski was out of contract with the Ekstraklasa side in the summer but Rangers have moved to beat off interest from Legia Warsaw to land the player now in a deal understood to be worth around £400,000.
Van Bronckhorst has been hunting a replacement for Nathan Patterson since the Scotland international made a bumper move to Everton earlier this month.
Zukowski turned down a new deal with Gdasnk in favour of a move abroad and has views Ibrox as the ideal place to develop his game.
He will provide back-up to skipper James Tavernier at right-back although the rapid wide man can also be deployed higher up the park.
He told the Rangers website: "I am delighted to join Rangers and to make this next step in my career.
"I have. been so impressed with everything I have seen and heard about Rangers and to join a club of this size is fantastic for me."
The 6ft 1in full-back has made 50 top team appearances for Lechia since his debut four years ago having come through the club’s own academy system.
Twenty of those have come this season as Zukowski established himself as a first pick for Tomasz Kaczmarek whose side sit fifth in the table at the midway point.
He's also chipped in with two goals in the current campaign leading to interest from across Europe.
Zukowski has risen through the youth ranks at international level too and has four under 21 caps to his name.
