Mateusz Bogusz's potential transfer to Celtic is reportedly on the brink of collapse.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been a standout with Los Angeles FC, scoring three goals and providing two assists in seven matches during the Leagues Cup, helping his team reach the final.
Celtic have shown interest in Bogusz and even made an official offer.
However, the Scottish Premiership leaders are now prioritising a move for Arne Engels from Augsburg after negotiations failed to progress.
If Engels joins, he would compete for the spot left by Matt O'Riley, who recently transferred to Brighton.

While Bogusz remains a target for other clubs across Europe, several Polish news outlets are claiming he is set to stay with LAFC for the time being.
He is even the poster boy for his teams upcoming fixture against Seattle Sounders - suggesting that any switch wouldn’t be imminent.
Bogusz, who has been called up to the Polish national team for the upcoming Nations League matches versus Scotland and Croatia, previously played in the United Kingdom with Leeds United from 2019 to 2023, but was reduced to very limited first-team appearances.
