The RFL's match review panel has explained why Ben Currie has not received a suspension for the tackle that left David Fusitu'a concussed in Warrington Wolves' victory over Leeds Rhinos.
Currie was involved in one of the game's flashpoints when his tackle of Rhinos winger David Fusitu'a left the player concussed.
The tackle was not punished at the time, a fact that angered Leeds head coach Richard Agar, who had seen James Bentley sent off for a high tackle.
Now, Currie has been charged, but will not be suspended after received a Grade A charge.
Grade A offences do not usually result in a suspension and as a result, the England international has left with a slap on the wrist.
The match review panel assessed the footage and came to the conclusion that the incident was careless. Every incident charged is put under three categories; careless, reckless and intentional. Careless is deemed the less serious of the three.
Additionally, the minutes note that while there was contact with the head, one mitigating factor was that Fusitu'a was dipping into the tackle.
As a result, Currie, who was arguably Warrington's best player, will receive no punishment.
