BBC bosses have booted iconic show Match of the Day off its usual slot on the TV schedule tonight (May 13). The programme which shows highlights from the day's Premier League football matches normally airs at around 10.30pm on BBC One every Saturday during the season.
But eagle-eyed viewers will notice the show - which will for the first time feature a father and son punditry team as Shaun Wright-Phillips joins his father and Arsenal legend Ian Wright to analyse the matches - is not in its regular slot. However, it will not take a super sleuth to realise why this is the case.
The reason behind Match of the Day being passed over is because BBC One will showing live coverage of the Eurovision Grand Final. This begins at 8pm and the marathon singing competition is not set to end until midnight.

The matches which will feature on the show tonight will be Leeds United v Newcastle United, Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea v Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace v Bournemouth, Manchester United v Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton v Fulham. It comes as the Premier League season hots up with most teams only having three games left to play.
Next week's TV schedule shows that Match of the Day will be back in its usual 10.30pm slot on BBC One.
