Matalan shoppers rave about £18 coat that's 'as cosy as a duvet' in Black Friday sale

With Black Friday deals in full swing, shoppers are already snapping up bargains of all kinds - from clothes to beauty and skincare to gadgets galore.

Matalan has cut the price of hundreds of items by up to 50% in store and online, as well as giving 20% off almost everything else on the site when shoppers use the code BLACKFRI20.

A winter coat has caused a particular stir, with shoppers praising it for being both stylish and, in the words of one reviewer, as 'cosy as walking around wearing a duvet.'

The animal print, padded puffer coat was £36 but has been reduced to half price for the shopping event, making it just £18. Fully machine washable, it has an elasticated hem and cuffs to keep the chill out, two big side pockets and a snuggly hood.

Shoppers have been snapping it up, with happy customers praising as being 'perfect for winter walks.'

One reviewer said initially she'd bought the jacket to wear while taking her dog out as the vivid pattern would stand out in the park, but having worn it a few times to work she was now rethinking whether to keep it just for walks. She added: "This is so cosy it's like walking around wearing a duvet. I love the fact the hood is separate from the collar too so it's like you're wearing a scarf which is an added bonus.

"It's not super cold yet but I'm hopeful it will keep me warm for some time yet. I've also been caught in a shower and stayed dry. Love it."

Another happy customer added: "This coat is a great fit, warm and stylish. Perfect for winter walks."

A third added: "I'm very happy with it, it's so soft."

Winter coats are a popular choice for Black Friday this year, with John Lewis, River Island, M&S and ASOS all discounting some of their most popular styles by up to 80%.

Shoppers buying from ASOS currently can also get an additional 15% off by using the code TAKE15.

Black Friday is officially tomorrow, November 25, but many retailers have already pushed the button on deals on everything from fashion staples, skincare, fragrance and beauty products, two-for-one Oodies, discounted air fryers and energy saving gadgets like heated airers and much more.
