Anna Haugh has been announced as the new judge on the next series of MasteChef: The Professionals. She will replace Monica Galetti who last week issued a personal update saying she was standing down for a while as her 'loved ones need me'. You can read more about that here.
Monica's replacement was announced on BBCs Morning Live on Friday, April 29. When host Kym Marsh asked Anna what kind of judge she would be, she replied: “I’m going to be really tough, really mean, I’m going to start sabotaging,“ before revealing that she was joking and that she loves to see talent and the potential of future cooks.
So who is Anna Haugh?
Anna, 41, is a chef who grew up in Tallaght, Ireland. She is a regular chef on Morning Live opposite Gethin Jones and Kym Marsh and has also appeared as a guest judge on Masterchef previously.
She began her career in Dublin but later moved to London and worked with chefs Philip Howard, Shane Osborn and even Gordon Ramsay. In 2019, she opened her own restaurant, ‘Myrtle’ in London, named after Myrtle Allen, an award-winning Irish chef.
MasterChef: The Professionals, which also features judges Greg Wallace and Marcus Wareing, features a group of professional chefs compete against each other in a cook-off in an attempt to win the coveted title of best chef.
We can’t wait to see Anna step into Monica’s shoes but what do you think of this replacement? Let us know in the comments.
