MasterChef: The Professionals as Edinburgh chef to battle for quarter final place

It is the last week of Heats on MasterChef:The Professionals and amongst the ambitious contestants this evening is Edinburgh based chef Gordon Craig.

Gordon will battle it out for a place in the competition's Quarter Finals. The 37-year-old will first take on the daunting 'Skills Test' before cooking two dishes in the 'Signature Menu' round. Only the chefs who can demonstrate they could have the all-round skills, technique and flair of a future champion will make it through to the next stage.

The Glasgow born chef currently works and lives in Edinburgh, filling the role as Chef Patron at the capital's Taisteal restaurant. The talented chef has previously worked at as Senior Sous Chef at Plummed Horse (Michelin Star), Chef de Partie at Waterside Inn (three Michelin Stars), and Chef de Partie at Peat Inn (Michelin Star).

MasterChef: The Professionals returned to our screens this November for its 15th series, as 32 ambitious chefs from across the country battle to become the 2022 Champion.

Gordon appears on the tenth episode of this year's series, airing on BBC One at 9:10pm. You can also watch tonight's show and catch up with all the previous episodes on BBC iPlayer.

Speaking about his decision to enter the competition, the Edinburgh chef said: “I wanted to step out my comfort zone and have a new challenge. I’ve always wanted take part in MasterChef : The Professionals and watch it pretty much every year, so now is the time.”

Only the two best chefs from tonight's show will go on to the last Quarter Final and continue in their quest for the coveted MasterChef: The Professionals title.
