Tom Simmons' much-loved brunch spot, Ground Bakery, is getting a third location - and regular customers are delighted to hear that it will be making its way to the quaint market town of Cowbridge at the end of the year.
This new joint will be joining that of Penarth and Pontcanna - all of which are co-owned by the Pembrokeshire-born Masterchef star and his parter Lois - which, since their openings in November 2021 and April 2022, have remained non-stop busy with queues out the door and tables constantly filling up. It even started doing breakfast boxes in Penarth due to its popularity - read more on that here.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, the team posted a simple graphic which read: "SITE 3 cowbridge opening december '22".

Captioning this exciting news, Ground Bakery wrote: "We are so proud and excited to say we will be opening our THIRD Ground site before the year is out! From December you'll find us on Cowbridge High Street! When fully developed this is going to be our biggest site to date with a beautiful outdoor courtyard as well as a large indoor seating area, however given it's size we are opening in three phases.
"Phase 1, opening in December, will include a beautiful counter filled with all our signature breads and pastry treats. You'll be able to grab sandwiches & toasties to go, warm up with coffees, hot chocolates or chai and browse our retail section which will be bursting with festive treats ready for all the foodies and coffee lovers in your life
"We are so excited about the next chapter for Ground and can't wait to get to know our new Cowbridge community!"
Fellow Cowbridge businesses were quick to comment on the post, welcoming this new hang-out spot with open arms.
The Yard Pizza said: "Can’t wait to welcome you to our lovely high street", alongside Thornbush Hill - a small batch home fragrance and natural skincare store - who added: "Welcome neighbours!!". Van converters Holbrook Dubs, too, wrote: "Welcome to Cowbridge, we are an awesome community full of the best small businesses".
Ground Bakery Cowbridge is due to open in December 2022.
