LUDHIANA: A major fire broke out at Lucky Towel House on Char Khamba Road in Ludhiana on Friday morning.
The dense smoke created problems for the firemen to douse the flames completely. It was a narrow escape for workers in the showroom. A sudden short circuit in wires is said to be the cause behind the incident.
In no time, the fire spread across the entire showroom. The firefighters were struggling to bring the situation under control due to the movement of public and other shopkeepers who were interfering in the work.
Though cops were deputed and they were seen pushing people away from the spot but onlookers were still present near the showroom. The blaze was once brought under control but it started spreading again at the top floor and black smoke covered the entire area. The material kept at the showroom was gutted completely.
The nearby shopkeepers,however, claimed that the fire brigade was not fully equipped that's why the fire couldn't not be brought under control in time. They did not have hydraulic ladder to control things from outside.
The fire station officer Maninder Singh, however, said that the work was going on in full pace and they would control it in next few hours. He said entire showroom had gutted in fire.
