George Banks, one of the United States' most notorious mass murderers, has died aged 83.

He passed away on Sunday afternoon at Phoenix state prison in Pennsylvania, the state Department of Corrections confirmed. His death was attributed to complications from renal neoplasm, or kidney cancer, by Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Janine Darby.
