Mason Mount spotted at F1 Spanish Grand Prix after agreeing Manchester United personal terms

Mason Mount headed to the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix after Manchester United agreed personal terms with him ahead of a potential summer transfer from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has a year left to run on his contract at Chelsea and has not agreed a fresh deal. Mount is one of several players the London side are expected to sell this summer to trim down a big squad and also recoup funds after two transfer window splurges recently.

United recently agreed personal terms with the England midfielder over a move to Old Trafford. A transfer fee is still yet to be agreed with the Stamford Bridge club and the move is still not totally set in stone.

Chelsea had a dismal season in the Premier League. The London side finished 12th and will have no European football at Stamford Bridge next campaign as Mauricio Pochettino takes charge in a bid to return them to their past glories.

Mount has not been selected for the England squad for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia through injury. It means he is now enjoying some time off before returning to pre-season, whichever club that is at.

And the midfielder was pictured at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain for this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix. Pictures showed him as a guest of Red Bull and he was in their garage ahead of qualifying on Saturday afternoon, with the race taking place on Sunday.

Red Bull are in a commanding position at the top of the Constructors' Championship with a dominant car which gives them a good chance of retaining their title in the early stages of the season. Max Verstappen also tops the Drivers' Championship standings as he seeks to claim his third world title in a row.
